Jaime Bender is a staff writer, copy editor, and web producer at From the Grapevine. She has written and edited for several print and digital publications in Florida, California, Delaware and North Carolina, covering education, politics, business and more. A native of Philadelphia, Pa., she graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in English/journalism. She currently lives in Pickerington, Ohio, with her husband and son.

Sarah F. Berkowitz was born in Jerusalem, raised in Detroit, and currently lives in Atlanta with her Manhattan born and bred husband. Her dream of becoming a psychologist was traded in for a laptop and chef’s hat when she decided to pursue her passion for writing and food. Sarah enjoys cooking, trying to get food to stay still for a good shot, and convincing her kids that they’re really lucky to have a chef as a mom. They’re still waiting for dinner.

Lindsay E. Brown is the managing editor of Eco-Chick, the web’s first ethical fashion, beauty and travel site for women. She previously served as the Director of Communications at CBS EcoMedia. Lindsay has written for Whole Living Magazine, Edible, and Cottages & Gardens and has been featured as a fashion and beauty expert on Z Living. Lindsay holds a BS in Global Business Studies and Marketing from Manhattan College, and received the 2012 Honors Award at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

Cohen is also the author of “My Jesus Year: A Rabbi’s Son Wanders the Bible Belt in Search of His Own Faith” (HarperCollins), named one of the best books of the year by Publishers Weekly and for which he received the Georgia Author of the Year award. Cohen previously served as the Content Director for the Mother Nature Network. He is based in Morgantown, WV, where he lives with his wife and two dogs.
Michael d’Estries has been writing about arts and culture and science and sustainability for more than 10 years. In addition to anchoring the Mother Nature Network’s pop culture section for the last five years, he is also the co-founder and managing editor of the popular healthy living site Ecorazzi.com. When not online, Michael owns a large apple farm and honey business in the gorgeous Finger Lakes region of New York.
Mandy Hegarty is a freelance writer who covers travel, food and film. She's been around the world and lived and worked in Dublin, New York and London, where she is now based. Israel was one of her favorite destinations and she writes about the sights and sounds there for From the Grapevine. Mandy is also an editor for travel writing agency World Words and contributes to The Express, Private Air Magazine and Expedia. Born and bred in Dublin, Mandy studied English Literature at Trinity College Dublin.

Jenn Virskus is a writer, photographer, graphic designer, and life-time learner. She returned to her grandparents’ birthplace of Lithuania in 2003 in an effort to improve her language skills and ended up staying five and a half years and founding the country’s first ski club for children. Back in the U.S., she recently completed her MFA in Writing in San Francisco where she has become obsessed with sailboat racing. She has also been published in Conde Nast Traveler, Lithuanian Heritage, and several small fiction journals.
