Artists: Behold your oasis
Residencies around the world gather and support artists.
Belmis Center for Contemporary Arts, Nebraska
This midwestern art paradise provides artists with a live/work studio, 24-hour access to extensive installation and production spaces, and a $750 monthly stipend to help with travel, materials, supplies and living expenses while in residency.
Artists enjoy a communal environment that encourages creative growth and experimentation. It's been called “one of the great treasures of its kind in the country” by Jane Alexander, former chairwoman of the National Endowment for the Arts.
The works to the left were made by award-winning former resident Riitta Ikonen.
