The United States

Four days after his speech in London, Einstein sailed to New York from Southampton to start a new job at Princeton University, originally planning to be away for only six months. (He ended up staying there for the remainder of his life.) Einstein traveled extensively throughout America, including to California where he was a visiting professor in Pasadena and where he made friends in Hollywood. Decades later, the comedian Steve Martin (who starred in the Pacific centric "L.A. Story") wrote a play about Einstein. Visitors to Los Angeles have been known to snap selfies with a life-size Einstein statue (seen here) at the city's Griffith Observatory.
