In Bogota, Bike to Work Day is every day. During peak commuting hours, the city restricts motor vehicle usage.
According to the Danish Architecture Centre, these restrictions have led to a 40 percent decrease in traffic. Ciclovia, an entire day dedicated to going car-free, brings people out to the streets and encourages citizens to get comfortable riding on the road. Bogota sports more than 200 miles of bike lanes and more than 80,000 bike users per day. In fact, with an average of two bikes per home, biking gives driving a run for the money!
