Mill City Museum, Minneapolis, Minn.
Built in 1874 on the banks of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, the Washburn A Mill was the largest flour mill in the world when it opened. After a fire nearly destroyed the mill in 1991, the Mill City Museum was erected around its ruins. Its main courtyard now serves as an event space and is home to the Mill City Summer Opera. This summer, the company will perform the operatic comedy "The Daughter of the Regiment," known for its lighthearted and catchy music.
