Masada National Park, Israel
Last year, more than 48,000 people listened to the high notes of opera while sitting near the lowest point of land on Earth – at 1,391 feet below sea level on the banks of the Dead Sea. The majestic mountain of Masada overlooks a 7,800-seat amphitheater that is home to an annual summer opera festival, which attracts fans from across the world. This year's festival will take place in June and feature several performances of two operas – "Tosca" and "Carmina Burana."
