The British Museum
Located in London, the British Museum opened in 1753 and has an intense focus on the history of human culture. It houses a collection of 8 million objects with more than 80,000 on display, including the Rosetta Stone, the Parthenon sculptures and one of the oldest mathematical instruments in the world. At 2 acres, the Queen Elizabeth II Great Court (pictured here) is the largest covered public space in all of Europe.
