Bluespotted ribbontail ray

Of all the stingrays, this one is by far the most colorful. Sporting polka dots and arresting yellow eyes, the bluespotted ribbontail ray spends its time sifting along the ocean floor during high tide – but by no means blends in with it.

This stingray makes his home in the coral reef during the day and ventures out for a midnight snack once the sun has set and the moon begins its mysterious pull on the ocean.

The stingray, as its name implies, can harm humans with its venomous barbed tail – but this sea creature's shy nature keeps it from seeking interaction with humans. Still, when it comes to this beautiful ray, it's best to look and not touch.
