Ciudad Juarez, Mexico

Most of the people in this border town in Mexico had never seen this much snow in their city before. This past December, the biggest snowstorm in more than half a century blanketed parts of the region, with accumulations up to 12 inches and temperatures as low as 0 degrees.

"It's the most intense snowfall in the last 55 years," Efren Matamoros, the civil protection director in Ciudad Juarez, told global news agency AFP.
