It's not every day you see the ancient ruins of Rome covered in snow. But on Feb. 4, 2012, a rare snowstorm blanketed the area, forcing the closure of schools and tourist sites such as the Colosseum. The snow covered palm trees, ruins and Baroque churches across the normally mild weather Italian capital, which has only seen one significant snowfall in the past 15 years.
