The thin nation of Chile has a very diverse set of landscapes. Its unique geography often gets overlooked when the country is seen on a flat map. Mountain ranges, many of which hide a wealth of valuable minerals and metals, run the length of the country, while glaciers, forested valleys, volcanoes and deserts cover the rest of the land.
Because of Chile's length, satellite pictures of it can illustrate the curvature of the earth, proving that no country is shaped exactly as it appears on a two-dimensional map.
