The largest lake in the world

The Caspian Sea, a landlocked saltwater behemoth, is the world's largest lake by volume and area. Spanning 143,000 square miles between Asia and Europe, this vast body of water has a volume of 18,800 cubic miles. The Caspian Sea is a closed basin, and has qualities of both a lake and a sea.
