Valencia, Spain is home to a cultural development known as the City of Arts and Sciences. One of the most visited of the "city's" venues is Oceanogràfic. Known for its avant garde architecture, this sprawling aquarium is Europe's largest. In total, the complex has a surface area of 27 acres.
Oceanogràfic has a dozen different exhibit spaces, ranging from an aviary and dolphinarium to Arctic-themed tanks and tropical habitats. One of the highlights is a deep ocean hall that features a large tank where visitors can view while walking though an underwater glass tunnel that's 100 feet long. Rays and large sand tiger sharks swim directly above viewers as they walk through the passageway.
