The Deep, England
This thoroughly modern and curiously named aquarium is in the English city of Hull, Yorkshire. The design of the building is supposed to resemble a submarine breaking the surface of the water. The Deep's tanks hold a vast array of fish, including seven species of shark. There are also a number of interactive exhibits, making this as much of an educational venue as a tourist attraction.
In addition to an underwater viewing tunnel, visitors can visit freshwater and saltwater tropical exhibits, deep ocean habitats and displays that trace the history of marine life back to prehistoric times. The different themed exhibits make the Deep a popular place for children and families, while unusual inhabitants like the rare green sawfish will impress aquarium-goers of any age.
