The sneaky hyrax
The rock hyrax (Procavia capensis) is admittedly cute, and though it looks like a guinea pig or rabbit, its closest relative is neither of the above. Believe it or not, this furry critter is the closest living relative to an animal almost 2,000 times its size — the elephant. Living amid rocky desert cliffs, the hyrax regulates its body temperature much like a lizard does: by lying out on the warm rocks. When not sunbathing, it hides in crevices to escape predators.
