10 of the strangest degrees you can get at college
From watching TV to managing golf courses, these unusual programs can make you a college grad.
So you read the 2013 biography of Jim Henson and thought: "Man, 600 pages was nowhere near enough. I wish I could actually get a college degree studying puppets." Well, pack your bags and head to the Appalachian mountains, because West Virginia University (among others) offers just such a major. You'll learn everything from the history of puppetry, how to build the perfect puppet, to running your own puppet company. The school also owns a mobile puppet unit that tours the region performing at local schools. Graduates from the program have gone on to work at Disney as well as several theater groups around the country.
