The stories behind 6 famous Einstein photos
There's more than meets the eye when it comes to images of the great man.
“Life without playing music is inconceivable for me,” Albert Einstein once declared. “I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music … I get most joy in life out of music.”
This photo, snapped in 1931, shows Einstein partaking in that which he loved the most – playing his violin – and which, according to his wife Elsa, had a great influence on his intellectual life.
“Music helps him when he is thinking about his theories,” she said. “He goes to his study, comes back, strikes a few chords on the piano, jots something down, returns to his study.”
