The most interesting people we met this year
From a camel cowboy to a woman living in a laundromat, 2016 was full of surprises.
Samantha Montgomery was a struggling singer. She worked in New Orleans as an eldercare-giver while posting her original songs on YouTube. Then, half a world away, an Israeli music producer discovered her, and an epic collaboration was born. Soon, her videos were getting millions of views and she was launched into stardom. Her story got even better known this year when a documentary about her called "Presenting Princess Shaw" was released. Said the film's director Ido Haar: "I watched her YouTube channel and I fell in love with her and her honesty and her directness and courage."
