Teddy Roosevelt's 'wandering off his face' mustache
Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt looks pensive in this photo.
Perhaps he's wondering if he should shave his somewhat uneven mustache. Or perhaps he's thinking about how great it looks. It's definitely one of these two things, because this former American president liked his facial hair almost as much as he liked making grandiose statements and shooting lions.
"Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure," said Roosevelt, "than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat."
We're pretty sure he was talking about the glorious triumph of growing a famous mustache. Either that, or he was hating on the imaginary people he himself made up.
