Jaheel Hyde, Jamaica: Hurdles
Jamaica’s Jaheel Hyde was a promising soccer player until he decided to focus on hurdles. He won gold in the 400m hurdles at the 2014 World Junior Championships and another gold in the 110m hurdles at the 2014 Youth Olympics Games in Nanjing, China, with a time of 12.96, which is better than that recorded by Russia’s Sergey Shubenkov in the 2015 World Championships.
The hurdle events will be contested at two different distances: 110m and 400m for men, and 100m and 400m for women.
