Laetitia Beck, Israel: Golf

Laetitia Beck won the Israel Ladies Golf Championship when she was just 12 years old. At 15, she moved to the U.S. to train at the prestigious IMG Academy in Florida and later attended Duke University, where she was a part of the NCAA Championship ladies’ golf team. At 24, Beck now plays on the LPGA tour, and is all but guaranteed to represent Israel in the Olympics (the official golf selection won’t be announced until July 11). “Especially now with the Olympics coming up, I think I’ll be able to help bring awareness to the sport. Soon, more people are going to know Israel has someone to represent them on the golf course,” she told USA Today.

Golf will be played at the Olympics for the first time since 1904.
