Paris, France and its Café Society

No list about café culture would be complete without Paris. The Café Society, as it was called, emerged in the city in the 19th century and has become so intertwined with its history that instead of being a diversion between tourist sites, many, such as Les Deux Magots and Café de Flore, have become the tourist sites themselves.

Attracting everyone from 20th-century intellectuals to modern-day hipsters, cafés have long been the stomping grounds of the city's cultural and political crowd. But beyond that, they represent a place for anyone and everyone to have a drink and a bite to eat.
