Katie Button, Cúrate, Asheville

Katie Button trained under Ferran Adrià at elBulli in Spain, a restaurant once lauded as “the most imaginative generator of haute cuisine on the planet,” not to mention restaurant superstars José Andrés and Johnny Iuzzini of Jean-Gorges. She moved to Asheville, N.C., to help her mother open her restaurant. Six months later, she opened her own restaurant, Cúrate, and later Nightbell.

She was named one of Food & Wine's best new chefs and has been a semi-finalist for a James Beard Rising Star Chef Award. Her cookbook, based on the menu at Cúrate is focused on seasonal, product-focused recipes for home chefs.
