5. Roasted chicken with figs
This rosemary- and basil-scented chicken, roasted with figs at their peak of ripeness, was a bit of a spontaneous venture by recipe author Miriam Kresh. She likes to prepare figs by halving them and drizzling them with sweet cream for a luxurious breakfast, or just rinsed and eaten as they are. But figs spoil quickly, and dinner was imminent.
