Bank of America Plaza: Atlanta, Georgia

Despite its vast sprawl, Atlanta's downtown skyline is dotted with imposing towers, none more so than the Bank of America building, which can be spotted from miles around and acts as something of a compass point in the city.

At 1,024 feet tall, it's the 11th-largest building in the United States, and the tallest in the southeastern part of the country. Take an elevator to the top and on a clear day you can spot Alabama to the west, some 60 miles away.
