The Q1 Tower: Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia
Until 2011, The Q1 Tower was the world's largest residential structure. Now it is the seventh, though still the tallest in the southern hemisphere. It sits nearly 400 feet higher than any other building in the Gold Coast and still ranks among the 50 tallest in the world.
Such is its iconic place in the country that though it was completed less than 10 years ago, it was still featured in the country's 150th birthday celebrations.
