A U.S. school built like an office
The Carpe Diem School in Aiken, Ohio, prepares students for college, career and life by surrounding them in a real-life working scenario. All students study in their own cubicles which the school believes creates an atmosphere conducive to individualized learning. It has approximately 300 cubicles situated throughout the space, each with its own work station that the students are free to decorate with inspiring images or quotes, stickers from their favorite band and family pictures.
In just four days of instruction a week – there’s no school on Fridays – Carpe Diem’s teachers monitor student progress through a computer program that calculates grades in real time and hones in on the areas in which students can improve.
