In Tel Aviv, Israel, there's an elementary school with innovative design whose clever use of color promotes creativity. Outside, the school's demure white façade is a tribute to "The White City" of Tel Aviv. On the inside, it's bursting with color and connection to its surrounding environment, featuring vibrant ceramic tiles, wood and painted aluminum.
The school was designed by Auerbach Halevy Architects with a strong emphasis on sustainable elements, such as thermal insulation, north to south classroom orientation for optimal shading and sunlight, and use of recycled materials. Clusters of classrooms and courtyards are situated along a main corridor, allowing for natural light to fill the classrooms.
