It's been scientifically demonstrated that people who knit, sew, crochet or do similar crafts are
happier and less stressed. Similar to crossword
puzzles, knitting is a repetitive activity that takes continuous, careful thought, with a goal of the the finished product always at the forefront of your mind as a motivator. Clinical neuropsychologist Catherine Carey Levisay told CNN what crafters have always known.
"Creating – whether it be through art, music, cooking,
quilting, sewing, drawing, photography (or) cake decorating – is beneficial to
us in a number of important ways."
