Come for the art and stay for the food at these gorgeous eating establishments.
The Modern: New York City
The Modern at New York's Museum of Modern Art is not only beautiful but beautifully placed, overlooking MoMA's Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden.
Designed by architecture firm Bentel and Bentel, the approach is elegant and simple. Lighted glass walls both bind the wide open spaces straddling different building areas and separate the components of bar, casual dining and fine dining with "gauzy veils of light."
The food isn't half bad, either. The Modern holds two Michelin stars, a three-star review in the New York Times and four James Beard Awards.
