Rush's 'Odd Life'
One of Rush's first feature film roles was as scrappy teen Joni Jerome in "The Odd Life of Timothy Green," directed by Peter Hedges, in 2012. Rush was just 15, but her self-assured interview demeanor was apparent even then. "Joni Jerome is, I would definitely say, a tomboy," Rush said about her character. "She's not your typical girly girl ... Joni's the kind of girl who would walk around with mud in her fingernails, and she doesn't care what you think. She does whatever is right to her and whatever floats her boat." She also said that shortly after meeting her co-star, C.J. Adams, he became "like a brother to her." Telling, we think, since Rush knows a thing or two about brothers – she's got six of them.
