9 legendary beards of Hollywood
If there was an annual award for 'Best Beard,' these actors would win every time.
Travis Fimmel in 'Vikings'
As the 9th-century Viking king Ragnar Lodbrok, Australian actor Travis Fimmel had plenty of creative freedom in growing out his facial hair for the role.
“It just grew I guess, I couldn’t for ages," he said of his trademark look. "I would have loved to grow one when I was a kid, I would have loved to have gone to prom and school and sh*t with a beard.”
Fimmel, who most recently starred in film adaptation of the video game "Warcraft," says that while filming "Vikings" in Ireland (like a certain upcoming "Star Wars" film) has been rewarding, he's looking forward to returning home to Australia.
"It's been a great experience, living in Ireland for four years with a great crew, he said. "Great people. I love Ireland except it rains too much. And it's a long way from home – about 24 hours."
