Just how dedicated was Natalie Portman to her education? She skipped out on appearing on the red carpet for the world premiere of "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" in 1999 so she could study for her high school final exams.
One year later, Portman was accepted into Harvard, joining a student body that later included Facebook co-founders Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin. She graduated in 2003 with a degree in psychology and pursued graduate classes at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in the spring of 2004.
In May 2015, Portman returned to Harvard to address the graduating class.
"My Harvard degree represents for me the curiosity and invention that we're encouraged here, the friendships I sustained," she said.
