Created by American director JJ Abrams, who would later go on to relaunch the "Star Wars" franchise, "Alias" tells the story of a female double-agent working to bring down the criminal organization she comes to realize she's working for.

American actress Jennifer Garner, who took on the lead role of agent Sydney Bristow for five seasons, not only had to learn extensive fight choreography, but also speak convincing Japanese, German, Russian and French.

"When there were so many things happening at the same time, when I had to do a fight, speak in a foreign language, and deal with a ton of props in one scene, that kind of stuff made me most happy," she told Vanity Fair.

In recognition of the fight she brought to the character, Garner received four "Best Actress - Drama" Golden Globes during the series' run.
