'Wonder Woman'

While "Justice League," the sequel to "Batman v Superman," is slated to roll out next summer, we're predicting the real winner in the DC Comics franchise to be none other than "Wonder Woman."

Directed by American filmmaker Patty Jenkins and starring Israeli rising star Gal Gadot, "Wonder Woman" tells the origin story of our favorite Amazon warrior princess.

"We cared a lot about simplifying Wonder Woman’s agenda, because it is simple," Gadot, who studied law in Tel Aviv previous to acting, told Variety about her character. "It was her heart that we cared about, not her being this warrior. When you tell a story from the heart, all of us can relate, because all of us want to live in a safe, quiet and peaceful world."

With well-received trailers that have been careful not to reveal too much, including the identity of one masked villain, it's clear that "Wonder Woman" is shaping up to be one of 2017's most anticipated films. The wait ends on June 2.
