Miami Design District, Fla.
Miami's Design District sits in the Wynwood neighborhood, part of the diverse Midtown area. Once covered by warehouses, the district now has more than 100 galleries. Visitors will also find everything from offices for cutting-edge architecture firms to antique shops and vintage clothing dealers. Most galleries take part in Art and Design Night, a district-wide open house held on the second Saturday of each month. The success of the neighborhood as a creative haven has led to an increase in the number of bars, restaurants and events venues.
It has only been a decade since the first galleries opened their doors, but ambitious investment and creative buzz have helped to build a vibrant and clean scene that is characterized by large murals and streets that are lined with art-related venues.
