Double the Einstein
This building-mounted multimedia mural (made of ceramic, fiberglass, marble, glass, iron and steel) was created in 1998 by artist Gifford Myers as part of the City of Pasadena Public Art Program.
This piece of art in California incorporates images of Pasadena, the San Gabriel Mountains and City Hall alongside two superimposed views of a grinning, bicycling-riding Einstein.
Titled "Einstein and Beyond," it celebrates Einstein's playful nature and his presence in the city – he taught at Caltech for several years in the 1930s.
