"Walk the Line," a 2005 drama film directed by James Mangold, is quite the classic, even inspiring its own parody: "Walk Hard." The film depicts Johnny Cash's early life, career and genre-redefining music.
American actor Joaquin Phoenix was honored to play the role. "To have Kris Kristofferson come up and say, 'Thank you so much for doing this. You did John proud.' Thats all that I could ask for," said Phoenix.
The feeling was mutual: the music legend was apparently thrilled when he found out Phoenix would be playing him; he was a huge fan of Phoenix's performance in "Gladiator."
