10 upcoming superhero movies to stoke your inner geek
From 'Wonder Woman' to 'X-Men,' the cinema is about to be visited by nearly every superhero imaginable.
The last film in the Marvel Asgardian trilogy, "Thor: Ragnarok" will build upon the cliffhanger ending from "Thor: The Dark World," but with an odd-couple twist.
According to New Zealand director Taika Waititi, the God of Thunder, played by Australian Chris Hemsworth, will join forces with the Hulk, played by American actor Mark Ruffalo, in an effort to defeat some looming threat. Rumor has it, that villain will be played by none other than Oscar-winning Australian actress Cate Blanchett.
And what about Jane Foster, played by Israeli-American actress Natalie Portman? Reports hint that she'll return as Thor's love interest, but as very little of "Thor 3" is expected to play out on Earth, it might not be more than a cameo (which, judging by her work schedule, makes sense).
"Thor: Ragnarok" is expected to start filming in Australia later this year, with a final release date of Nov. 3, 2017.
