A refreshing pit stop along the Golan Hiking Trail
A green pool amid rocky cliffs in northern Israel offers cool relief for hikers.
This lush, verdant scene is one of many along the 77-mile trek from Mount Hermon to the Sea of Galilee known as the Golan Hiking Trail. From mountains to freshwater lakes, there is no lack of opportunities for wildlife to thrive in northern Israel.
Hiking the trail takes about a week, and there are spots to refuel and re-supply before continuing on the next day's trek; but there's nothing quite like an all-natural, rejuvenating dip in a spring to keep you going.
