An adorable baby baboon hugs its mother in the Ramat Gan Safari in Tel Aviv, Israel. These guys are in this section of the zoo temporarily while the zoo renovates their normal yard, and they seem pretty comfortable in their new environment.

Baboons organize their society in an interesting way. One male rules with an iron fist, surrounded by a harem of females. In the wild, a number of interrelated clans band together at water holes or high ground, where they spend the night.

Baboons, like humans, are omnivores. They mostly eat plants, but they also chow down on nutritious insects and occasionally prey on fish, shellfish, hares and birds.
