How do animals deal with hot weather?
They lick popsicles, of course.
A ring tailed lemur licks a block of flavored ice handed by zookeepers at the Ramat Gan Safari, north of the Mediterranean coastal city of Tel Aviv. When summer temperatures reach unusually hot levels, these fruit popsicles are often used to help the animals cool down and feel refreshed.
The Ramat Gan Safari is one of the largest collection of wildlife in the Mediterranean. The 250-acre site consists of both a drive-through African safari area and a modern outdoor zoo. There are approximately 200 species and 1,550 animals at the location.
