These amazing hot air balloons will make you wish you were up, up and away

A hot air balloon festival in northern Israel includes a giant Van Gogh head and an only-slightly-creepy clown.

Over the weekend, thousands came out to the picturesque Jezreel Valley in Israel for a hot air balloon festival.

And clearly they'll never look at Vincent Van Gogh the same way again.

Also clowns. But that's one of those "different strokes, different folks" things, and we can all just calm down about this and be reasonable, OK?

It was all part of the Gilboa Hot Air Balloon Festival in Israel, where thousands gathered to watch the colorful exhibition of giant balloons from local and foreign flyers, displayed alongside other airborne events like paragliders, paramotorers and aerial artists.

So, if for no other reason than to appreciate both good photography and the fruits of these astoundingly talented balloon designers' labor, please enjoy these hot air balloon images.
