Why buy decorations when you can make them? These inventive folks had the bright idea to dress up their tree in the southern Israeli town of Beersheba, artistically recycling plastic packaging to make yellow flowers.

Recycled decorations are actually becoming quite popular nowadays, probably because they win on so many levels: they're a great way to save money, they help the environment, they're one-of-a-kind pieces of art and they're a lot of fun to make.

We want to congratulate the makers of these particular decorations: their flowers are exquisite, featuring multiple layers and colors. The net covering was a great idea too, making it easier to string up the flowers and keep them in place, as well as adding some cool geometric contrast to the organic-looking shapes.
