Wave hello to another epic season of pro surfing
Come along for the ride as the World Surf League gets into gear for its 2016 season.
Some of the world's best surfers converged on the coastal city of Netanya, Israel, this past weekend for the inaugural SEAT Pro Netanya presented by Billabong. The 10-day event runs through the 25th of the month and is one of the first of the season for the World Surf League's Qualifying Series World Title Race. The season sees both men and women competing at various surfing locations around the world in order to crown a champion.
Among those participating in Netanya are Maud Le Car of France and scene-stealing Israeli sisters Anat and Noa Lelior. Also competing are Cooper Chapman of Australia, one of the world's best surfers; Portuguese Pedro Henrique, Europe's top-ranked surfer; and Moshe Perez, one of Israel's best wave riders.
Free surfer Ozzie Wright of Australia is also in the running, having surprised the field when he entered the event a day before competition started.
