Starting the new year on the right foot
Fitness guru Guy Catz begins 2017 with a new perspective (literally).
Los Angeles-based fitness trainer Guy Catz posted the above photo to Instagram over the New Year's weekend.
"I didn't post this shot before because I was my own harshest critique," he wrote to his more than 2,400 followers. "Never mind the fact that I'm balancing on a sharp ledge over the water in a beautiful place just after sunrise, all I thought was, 'I'm not as straight as I can be,' but I was doing my best at the time ... So it's a lesson for me – don't be so hard on yourself, you don't need to be perfect, you just need to do your best and feel good about that. So 2017, I'm going to do my best."
The 28-year-old Catz, who was a contestant on last year's edition of "American Ninja Warrior" on NBC, owes much of his love for exercise to when he lived in Israel. “I would go to the gym there three hours a day and train,” he told From The Grapevine. He focused on a combination of weightlifting and body-weight exercises at first. Then in 2011, he discovered his passion for rock climbing, which he described as the “ultimate challenge for the mind, body and soul.”
