7-year-old 'Indiana Jones' makes amazing discovery

He found a 3,400-year-old figurine while playing with friends.

Remember when you were a wee 7 years of age and would uncover ancient figurines while out playing with friends? No, you don't? Well, Ori Greenhut certainly will.

The 7-year-old Israeli was with some pals recently when he spotted a small clay figurine – one Israeli archaeologists believe to be 3,400 years old.

Understandably, the innocent youngster was unaware of the importance of his discovery. “Ori returned home with the impressive figurine and the excitement was great. We explained to him this is an ancient artifact," his mother Moriya Greenhut said.

The Greenhut family turned the find over to the Israel Antiquities Authority, and representatives of the IAA came to Ori's school to present him with a certificate of appreciation for good citizenship. Esther Ledell, Ori’s teacher, summed it up best when she said: "It was an amazing occasion!"
