Wix hits the mark again with Kung Fu Panda Super Bowl ad

The web development company's new commercial rivals memorable past ads.

Wix sure knows how to generate excitement around its brand leading up to the Super Bowl.

The Israel-based web development platform has released a series of teasers for its new Super Bowl commercial ahead of the big game this Sunday. Developed in collaboration with DreamWorks Animation, it features the cast of the animated flick "Kung Fu Panda." The newest clip was released yesterday and is already nearing 1 million views on YouTube.

In it, Po and friends reenact Old Spice's "The Man Your Man Could Smell Like" ad and the iconic Budweiser frogs commercial in an attempt to draw more customers to their noodle shop. Then a friend of Po's suggests starting smaller with a "stunning website from Wix.com."

Wix was launched in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 2006, but it wasn't until last year that the company made its first foray into the high-profile world of Super Bowl advertisements.

Much like they've done this year, in 2015 Wix rolled out several teasers before unveiling a long-form ad during the game.

Tied to their #itsthateasy campaign, former NFL greats Brett Favre, Emmitt Smith, Terrell Owens, Larry Allen and Franco Harris starred in the series as successful post-football entrepreneurs, proving it's as easy for them to flourish outside of sports as it is to build a website with Wix.

And fear not – Wix is no slouch in the offseason either, taking the 2015 Super Bowl campaign and running with it into the spring, releasing this clever ad with supermodel Heidi Klum.
