Quick and easy warmed grapefruit
Bet you didn't know grapefruit tasted this good after a few minutes in the broiler.
During the winter months, we are blessed with amazing citrus fruit. I love this for so many reasons. Nature always provides balance. When the elements are at their gloomiest, we get bright, delicious, and sweet citrus!
It's as if nature is trying to keep us mentally healthy during all the gloom of rain, snow and whatever else winter brings.
This is one of my go-tos for breakfast because it is quick, warm, and tasty. Also, I am not always super hungry when I first wake up. My stomach takes a bit to catch up. But I find that I often won't have my first meal til 1 p.m. or so, if l allow it. So this gets me nibbling on something to start my day.
It is also perfect for brunch or a healthy dessert.

Using a paring knife, cut around the edges of the fruit, dislodging them.
Top each slice of grapefruit with a teaspoon of brown sugar. This is optional. Honey and agave are also great choices.
Broil the grapefruit for about 3 minutes.
Serve with a sliced cherry and enjoy.
