Peanut butter hot cocoa

A steamy cup of cocoa with a hint of peanut butter, thick swirl of whipped cream and a nutty, chocolate topping.

  • Yield: 1 cup
  • Cook time: 5 minutes

OK, so this is not the most involved recipe you’ve ever tried – but that’s the beauty of it! Take ingredients you likely have in your pantry right now, and create a new and unique hot drink for someone you love (yourself?). Double up so you can share with your bestie and enjoy a cozy, delicious drink for two.

Out of cocoa packets? Mix a tablespoon cocoa powder with two tablespoons sugar and a dash of salt to create your own homemade hot cocoa mix. A teaspoon vanilla extract or dash of cinnamon adds extra flavor, but if you’re adding peanut butter, it's best to skip the cinnamon.

  • 1 packet hot cocoa mix
  • 1 spoonful creamy peanut butter
  • 8 ounces hot milk or water
  • Whipped cream
  • 2 Reese's peanut butter cups

Chop peanut butter cups and set aside.

Pour cocoa mix into cup, and add peanut butter.

Add a small amount of hot milk or water and mix until smooth.

Add remaining hot milk or water and stir.

Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with chopped peanut butter cups.

Drink. Enjoy.
